Most people who contact Thrive Claims are not sure which kind of claim applies to them, and that uncertainty is understandable. Cover held through super can include a lump sum TPD claim, monthly income protection benefits, or both, and each policy sits within the broader rules that govern superannuation claims. People who changed jobs over the years often hold multiple super funds, so part of the work is identifying every policy that was active when illness or injury began to affect their capacity to work.
The circumstances behind a claim shape the evidence an insurer will expect. A physical injury or illness claim relies on records showing how the condition limits work, while mental health claims need a treatment history that explains the effect on daily functioning. Receiving government support does not settle the insurance question: DSP recipients and NDIS participants are assessed under separate policy terms, and a motor accident claimant may hold super cover alongside any compensation claim. Each service page explains these differences in more detail.
